Oppelskop, is a small peak in front of Devil's Peak with stunning views over Cape Town.
The tour starts from Table Mountain drive, about 3km past the lower cable station. The hike starts off with the zigzag or switch back path at (400m) and once you reach Saddle Rock (650m) (which is located in the saddle between Devil's Peak and Table Mountain) we walk on a reasonably level path from the west side of the neck to Pulpit rock in the east, then back to Saddle rock and in a northerly direction to the peaklet called Oppelskop, an old lookout ruin, which is the turnaround point of the tour. We then descend approx. 70m to the lower contour path, which traverses back to the start of the hike.
Add: you might reach breakfast rock and on the way to the lookout feel you want to climb the rest of Devil's Peak (1001m above sea Level). (at extra cost)
Subtract: You might find that the hike is too strenuous and there are a number of linking routes to allow you to shorten the hike.
Alternatively you can start behind the lower Cable station and follow the contour path to Oppelskop and back via the lower contour path. (Height climb 270m) (Approximately 4 hours).
